My child already has a music teacher. Can they still work with you?
Yes. Many children come to me for extra support alongside their existing lessons. I complement what their teacher covers by adding confidence coaching, performance skills, aural work and audition readiness.
Do you focus on grades?
Grades can be great when the child is ready, but I never push exams too early. My approach is:
fun first → confidence next → skills → grades if appropriate.
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons are held in Southwell. I also offer online sessions for audition preparation and aural practice if needed. I can also teach at your home if you have an instrument. (Extra fee applies - see pricing)
FAQs
What age do you teach?
I work with children aged 5–14 whether they’re complete beginners or already learning an instrument and want extra support, confidence or preparation for school auditions. (I can also work with adults who want to learn in this way)
Do you offer lessons for complete beginners?
Yes! Many children join with no musical experience at all. Lessons are fun, playful and focused on building confidence through rhythm, listening, creativity and early technique..
Which instruments do you teach?
I teach piano, drums and guitar. Children can explore one instrument or try a mixture until they find the one they love most.
Do you help with school music auditions?
Absolutely. I support children preparing for Southwell Minster Junior Department and other selective schools. We focus not just on playing pieces, but on aural skills, rhythm, confidence, mindset, and performing with expression.

How long are lessons?
Most children start with 30-minute lessons, with the option to move to 45-minute sessions as they grow in confidence and ability..
I am an adult and I want to learn too!
Great! Many adults come to me to enjoy and explore music without the pressure of grades or exams. Lessons are relaxed, confidence-building and focused on expression, using the same supportive approach I offer younger learners.
